30 Year Drinks - Event Summary

17 July 2019

On Friday the 14th of June, The Blackmore Club celebrated 30 years of supporting Rowing at Saints, with drinks held at the Torrens Boatshed. This was a very special event, which saw almost 100 people pack the shed to celebrate this great milestone.

Headmaster Tim Browning, Blackmore President Philip Marshall and Director of Rowing Tim Hennessy, spoke briefly about the future of Saints Rowing, as well as the importance of past rowers and parents staying connected to the Boat Club. The 2019 First VIII video was then shown, providing a great insight into the current experience of rowing at Saints.

Past rowers were also able to catch up with legendary coaches Lindsay Southcott,  Michael Gilmore, as well as olympic medalist and current First VIII coach James McRae. It was particularly great to see rowers from the 1950s as well as recent 2018 graduates in attendance.

Photos stretching back to the 1890s were also on display!

We would also like to recognise the support of our event sponsors - Yalumba Wines, St Peters Cellars and the St Peters Bakehouse.

We thank everyone who attended this great celebration and we look forward to seeing you all again at our next Blackmore event!
